The Centre for Window and Cladding Technology (CWCT) holds its AGM on Thursday 14 September. Two important and relevant topics for discussion are building safety and fire, and facade refurbishment and recladding.
The CWCT is an industry funded body assisting in delivering best practice in the engineering of building envelopes. As longstanding members of the CWCT, Interface regularly contributes to the creation and review of its guidance documents through CIBSE and the Society of Facade Engineering (SFE).
Most recently, Will Stevens – chair of the SFE technical committee – collaborated on the updated CWCT/SFE fire guidance (with input from Interface engineers). This important joint publication provides technical guidance in interpreting the updated building regulations banning the use of combustible material in the external walls of certain high-rise buildings in England.
