58-60 Berners Street
A new mixed-use development in Fitzrovia
On first view the façade of our project on Berners Street sits calmly within the West End street scape. However on closer inspection it reveals a rich pallet of traditional London materials in an intricate composition of hand-set Portland stone, brick and faience.
Elegant arched windows at ground level are outlined with a double row of Ibstock dark blue glazed hand-set bricks, recessed from the solid columns of Grove Whitbed Portland stone, with blocks of Alma Grey granite at the base and the lower ground level.
On the upper stories, full-height windows with aluminium reveals are lined with brick, separated by large rectangular speckled faience columns.
The Wells Street elevation showcases a chequer board of glazed soldier course brickwork to the cyclorama.
The development adjoins two buildings to create 76,000 sq feet of mixed-use facilities across seven storeys, and an enhanced public realm north of Oxford Street. Interface were involved during the construction stages of the project.
