We are delighted that our 1 Berkeley Street project has been shortlisted in the Best Mixed Use Scheme category of this year’s Building London Planning Awards.
In partnership with the Mayor of London, these prestigious awards celebrate innovative projects across the capital that are leaders in design and sustainability.
Sitting opposite The Ritz Hotel on Piccadilly, our 1 Berkeley Street project transformed two 1970s buildings into a 210,000 square foot mixed-use development containing offices, retail outlets and a hotel.
The building was carefully retained and enhanced through complete internal refurbishment, facade refurbishment and new extensions to the rear and the addition of two levels to the existing building.
In the spirit of Carl Elefante’s famous dictum “the most sustainable building is the one that is already built,” an innovative approach was developed that successfully retained 90% of the original frame and façade elements while substantially enhancing the development’s operational energy efficiency, functionality, accessibility, and longevity.
We are honoured to be recognised among the contenders for this prestigious award, which underscores our commitment to innovative and sustainable urban development. Winners will be announced in October.
Congratulations to everyone involved in this project!
